20 DAYS TO EXPLORE AND BE ONE WITH THE BEAUTIFUL MOUNTAINS

Among the numerous trekking routes in Nepal, Dhaulagiri Circuit Trek is one of the challenging and adventurous treks that will take to you a distant place far away from the civilization to explore the Annapurna Region. Trekkers will be taken to explore the base of the world’s highest peaks including the 7th highest mountain, Mount Dhaulagiri (8167m). This trek will walk you through beautiful snow-covered slopes, icy glaciers and, lateral moraine.

The Dhaulagiri Circuit Trek is a long challenging trek that passes through high alpine pastures, uninhabited valleys, dewy mountain caps, green forests, and cultivated terraced hills. You will explore a fair share of magnificent sceneries, experience-rich Himalayan culture, and be in peace at isolation far away from any civilization.

Crossing two passes – The French Pass at 5,360m and Dhampus Pass at 5,200m, and including the Dhaulagiri Base Camp at 4,740m, this is a challenging trek that requires a very high level of fitness and dedication. However, with good stamina and basic mountaineering skills, help and assistance from our staffs, you will be rewarded with stunning views Mt.  Dhaulagiri I (8,167m), Dhaulagiri ii (7,751m), Dhaulagiri III (7,715m) and Dhaulagiri V (7,618m), Tukuche Peak (6920m).

Itenerary

Upon your arrival to the beautiful city of temples, Kathmandu via Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be picked and transferred to one of the standard hotels of Kathmandu. There you can freshen up and rest a bit.
You will have a great time seeing the most beautiful historical and cultures around the valley. Brace yourself to be amazed by a wide variety of cultures and traditions.
You will start your day early in the morning. After breakfast at the hotel, you will take a bus from Kathmandu to Beni, a very enjoyable hill ride where you will get to see scenic forests filled with autumn flowers, raging Trishuli and Kaligandaki rivers. The whole ride will take around 9 hours and you will reach Beni late in the afternoon.
The trekking starts today as the walk towards Babia Chaur from Beni starts. The hustle of larger human settlement will be left behind as we follow the trail to Mayagdi Khola with stomach-filling delicious breakfast on the go. As we pass by the village of Singa, we will relax as we move towards Tatopani village. After a good rest, we will cross the river and walk a couple more hour and cross the river again passing the Simalchaur village. In the northern bank of Myagdi Khola, we will slowly take our last walk to Babia Chaur where we stay overnight at a lodge or teahouse.
The trial leading to Dharapani slow widen up with uphill sections throughout the day. Early in the morning after the well-awaited breakfast, we will take our lead to the village of Shashradhara. After that, we will cross the Duk Khola. Here onwards, the path will have magnificent terraced farmlands until we reach Ratorunga. These terraces will slowly disappear as we move uphill to reach Dharapani. There we will stay overnight after we reach around late afternoon.
We will start the walk with a steep climb from Dharapani today passing by Than village and taking a peaceful break in Sibang. Along the way, we will pass through small settlements where you will get to experience local culture and tradition. Then, we will cross Dhara Khola passing by Phalai continuing the trail on the west bank of Myagdi Khola. After another hour of uphill trekking, we will reach Muri village; larger Magar village in the area. The views of Dhaulagiri is fantastic from up here. You will get a more magnificent view in clear weather. We will stay overnight in Muri.
After a short village tour of Muri early in the morning, our walk starts again. Leaving the beautiful village and taking a glance at Magar culture, we will walk terrace fields for a while and cross a small stream. After that we have an uphill section coming up showcasing Gustanf South Mountain. We will cross the grassy hills after stopping at Gustanf South Mountain. We will stay overnight in Bogart after we reach there late afternoon after descending through the sparse forest.
We will start our day at Boghara with a glorious sunrise. We will continue our trail to a small ridge to Jyardan after our breakfast. Jyardan is the last permanent village marking now on since the only places will be lodges and teahouses for trekkers to stay. The terrain starts to get rockier and we have a high wind blowing place next up to Lipse. After another hour of walk, we will arrive at Lapche Kharka. Dobang is a little bit uphill from Lapche Kharka. At late afternoon, we will stay at Dobang in a lodge/teahouse.
After breakfast, we will start our trek to Choriban Khola crossing a wooden bridge near the village. The trail slowly leads to a dense forest. We will be greeted by the gorgeous view of the western face of Dhaulagiri on the other side of the forest. We will soon reach Chatare after we cross the Myagdi Khola. We still have some spare forest to cross before we come across the high rocky tail section. We need to cross a small stream to reach the village of Choribal Khola where we stay overnight and take a good rest.
What can make us happier than starting our day with golden Himalayan sunrise !! We will start our trail journey following the terminal moraine of the Chhonbarban Glacier. We will pass through some risky landslide-prone steep slopes. After that, we will end our walk for the day by reaching the Italian Camp. There we will enjoy some of the best scenarios you will ever see in your life.
We will have an important acclimatization day at the Italian Base Camp today. As we will have some days of trekking in the higher elevations, this break at the Italian camp is strategically significant to prepare you and give you the long-awaited rest. You will also have few options for hiking around for better preparation of your body for the surrounding. From the camp, you can have a sublime view of Dhaulagiri I, Tukuche peak and other peaks of the Dhaulagiri massif. We will stay overnight at the Italian Camp.
We have a very demanding day ahead of us today starting from Italian Base Camp ending at Dhaulagiri Base Camp. Some portions might require extra safety with a harness, ropes to cross. We will take you safely and we will reach the glacier cam around Mid-day. We will continue to Dhaulagiri Base camp stopping briefly in middle. The last portions of the trek is very long, tiresome and steep with a very high possibility of being covered with glowing white snow. Following the instructions of the guide gradually, we will reach our end destination and take shelter in Dhaulagiri Base Camp for the night.
We have a rest and acclimatization day today at the Dhaulagiri Base Camp. You can have the best views of this ginormous mountain from the camp today. Similarly, the surrounding peaks and landscapes are breathtaking as well. Take short hikes in the nearby places and prepare for the high pass tomorrow. Overnight at a tent in Dhaulagiri Base Camp.
We will start again early for doing the French Pass in clear morning weather. The trail might get windier during the pass. We will get the most beautiful view of Hidden valley of Dhaulagiri from the other side. The view of Dhaulagiri I-VI, Tukuche peak, Junction Peak, Thapa Peak, Dhampus Peak, and others is remarkable from the valley. We will set up a camp here and rest for the day.
Today, we will head towards the Hidden Valley, the second pass of the trek. The trail is gradual with some few hard sections. After 2-3 hours of walking, we will reach the Thapa pass and spend a brief time there before our steep descent commences. After some more hours of downhill walk, we will reach the village of Kalopani and stay overnight at teahouse/lodge there.
The trail slows joins the Annapurna Trek circuit as we head toward the Marpha village. We will have a relaxed walk enjoying the beauty of magnificent landscapes on our walk to Marpha. We will stop in midway, taking small breaks as we walk beside Kali Gandaki River. We will arrive at Marpha; “The apple HUB” of Nepal. Here you will get to look around the apple orchid fields and try our products. And, we will rest for the night in Marpha. Alcohol made of Apples are LOVE.
You can take a short village tour of Marpha before starting the hike to Jomsom Marpha is one of the big settlements of the region and is an outstanding place to admire the local art and culture. The scenery, streets and houses here are picturesque so take as many pictures you want. After a delightful breakfast, we will continue the trek to Jomsom. This is the last part of the Dhaulagiri Circuit trek and is a very relaxed segment. You will enjoy the fantastic landscape view throughout the route. Then, we will stay overnight at Jomsom and rest a bit.
We will have an early morning flight from Jomsom to Pokhara. From this short domestic flight, you can view the glowing Himalayas again. After landing in Pokhara we will take you to your hotel there where you can rest and have lunch. Then, you can head out to explore the Pokhara valley, lakeside and enjoy the local attractions and agin stay overnight in a beautiful resort there.
You have options to drive or fly back to Kathmandu from Pokhara. After arriving in Kathmandu, we will drive you to a very luxurious hotel here. In your spare time today, you can go for a souvenir shopping trip in Thamel, visit Durbar Marg and look around for a bit. You can visit some cafes here and further enjoy your visit and try out true Nepali cuisine
Before your departure, we will pick you from the hotel and drive you to Tribhuwan International Airport. With some fantastic memories and adventurous stories to cherish, return with the completion of the Dhaulagiri Circuit trek with Magic Himalaya Treks, we will give you a farewell.
