A steep and narrow path through a very dense forest will bring us to the dramatic curved rock face, rising 1500m from the river. You will take a path to the north of Chame. We get surrounded by majestic Himalayan Peaks ,as the trail opens up . We find ourselves in a Manang valley hanging between two giant snow peaks. A challenging hike through a steep uphill trail that takes you along some pine forests leads you to a ridge. The ridge is an excellent mountain viewing spot as you can see impressive views of Pisang peak and the Chulu peak. A gentle descent from this ridge takes you to your overnight stop in Pisang village (3310 m).
Beyond Pisang, dramatic views of the high snow-capped peaks will accompany you on today’s trekking trail.Descending past Manang's airstrip at Hungde (3320m.), you come to a level area from where the north-east face of Annapurna III rises majestically above you.The panoramic views of the majestic mountain peaks, such as Annapurna, Pisang peak, and many others will certainly allure us. We notice a contrast with the landscape and vegetation from today. The cold, dry weather creates a much harsher environment. A visit to Barge monastery, the largest in the entire district of Manang will be memorable. Overnight at tea house .
Today is rest as well as acclimatization day in Manang. You will go for a short hike observing beautiful views of green landscapes, silvery mountains, Chortens, and Monasteries to a higher altitude today and get back to Manag. Today is the day to head to higher altitudes from manang. From Manang village, the trail crosses a stream, climbs to a village of Tenki above Manang, and then continues to turn northwest upto the spectacular valley of Jarsang Khola and climb out of the Marshyangdi Valley . The trail follows its steadily gains elevation. The trail passes near the small village of Ghunsa and goes through meadows where horses and yaks graze. The trail passes an ancient old Mani wall in a pleasant meadow after crossing a small river on a wooden bridge, and then reaches another small village of Yak Kharka. Little but Gradual ascent is the key to avoiding altitude problems.
From the beautiful spot of Yak Kharka, you will first descend to the headwaters of the Marshyangdi and crossing via a suspension bridge. You will trek past scrub vegetation. This will take you to an area where you can see the effects of a landslide. After a short ascent up the mountain path on the right bank, you follow a narrow trail across an unstable scree slope and then descend to Thorong Phedi.Thorong Phedi is a small busy settlement catering to the needs of tired trekkers and climbers. People also use this point as a base camp.
Today you are going to conquer the heightest point of trek Thorong La Pass- 5,416 meters .We reach the climax of our Annapurna circle trek today . An early start is important to complete the mission. Each moment you will have to work hard your way through the icy high-altitude trail but the outstanding high Himalayan scenes are such tempting that our eyes love to fall for and watch more over the horizon . We reach Muktinath ,temple of special fascination with the setting sun. Muktinath is an important pilgrimage place for both Hindus and Buddhist. The area hosts a Vishnu temple and a Monastery nearby. Muktinath itself demonstrates the religions harmony in Nepal.
You can find quite a noticeable wind blowing today.Today, as there are vehicles available (bus/jeep), we take advantage of it to drive along a plateau above the Kali Gandaki - world`s deepest gorge. The barren landscape of this area resembles Tibetan Plateau. At some point, we have to change our vehicles too, so today is going to be an uninteresting day. After arriving at Tatopani, we relax our weary muscles with a dip in one of the hot spring pools . It is one of the best feelings ever.
Today’s final destination is the village of Ghorepani (2860 meters). While we walk we observe the lifestyle of the people in the midland villages of Nepal. Ghara and Sikha are the villages with terraced and inclined farmlands. We walking through a non-habitat area through rhododendron, birch, magnolia and some meadows. The peaks ahead look wonderful as we reach the heights. We stay at Ghorepani as we have to climb to reach Poon Hill early tomorrow morning.
Early at dawn we ascend to Poon Hill (3210m) to catch the moment of spectacular sunrise over the whole Annapurna and Dhaulagiri massifs and surrounding rice terraces. Poon Hill is itself known as a photographer`s paradise. After breakfast, we continue walking ups and downs through the trail trek to Tadapani for overnight through the rhododendron forests. We like to keep inspecting at the horizon as scenarios are equally dazzling throughout the day today.
We make a steep descent from Tadapani through the dense and dark forest of old rhododendron trees. When the rhododendron trees are in bloom, these forests actually turn into gardens of dazzlingly beautiful flowers and when seen from the air , mostly red. By afternoon, we will be pleasantly surprised by the sight of some cherry blossoms in bloom on the slopes on the other side of the ravine. After trekking for few moments, you will enter the village of Ghandruk to witness a slope settlement with stone houses dominantly inhabited by the Gurung folks.Enjoying the stunningly close-up towering views of Fishtail, Hiuchuli mountains and Annapurna South , we get the priviledge to acquaint ourselves with the simple but rich cultural traditions of the Gurung people at the Gurung Museum in Ghandruk
Today, our trekking trail takes us from Ghandruk to Naya Pul then drive to Pokhara. All the way to Birethanti , you can expect the trek to be downhill. We step onto a staircase curving in and out of the village paved with stone slabs and then terraced farms. It keeps going down almost without breaks until Modi Khola river valley. From Birethanti, a 30 minutes walk takes us to Naya Pul. Our walk for the day comes to an end at Nayapul. Then we drive from Nayapul to Pokhara
Today you may take an optional sightseeing tour in and around Pokhara or enjoy adventure activities such as boat riding, paragliding, etc till some hours before flight. While returning to Kathmandu from Pokhara, enjoy the scenery, the road follows by Trisuli River where you see many people rafting on the river. Around 2:00 pm you will arrive at kathmandu and transfer to your hotel. Perhaps you can catch up on some last minute shopping in this day of leisure or you can also explore any sights you missed during your first day in Kathmandu. In the evening, we will have a Farewell dinner at traditional Nepalese restaurant.
Today is the last day in our glorious country Nepal for this trip.Approximately 3 hours before the scheduled flight, you will be taken to the airport with all the necessary travel documents. Our team wishes you have a wonderful departure back home.
